New Travel Requirements for Galapagos (from 5 June 2017)

Starting June 5, 2017, all national or foreign tourists travelling to the Galapagos Archipelago must have with them prior to entry the following documentation:

• A round-trip ticket (by air or sea). 
• Reservation in a hotel or on a navigable tour, that match the dates of the travel tickets. 
• Or an invitation letter to visit as a guest of a permanent or temporary resident  of the province of Galapagos, for the time prescribed in the Basic Law of Special Regime for the Galapagos (not more than 60 days per year/see government site for invitation letter format). 
• A transit control card issued by the Governing Council of the Special Regime for the Galapagos (when previous requirements are fulfilled).  This will be issued for travellers arriving by air at the counters of the Council of Government of Ecuador in Quito or Guayaquil airports.
