Iguazu Falls (or Iguazu (in Arg) or Iguassu/Iguaçu Falls (in Brazil), meaning "Big Water" in local dialect, has the distinction of holding TWO UNESCO World Heritage Site designations (one for each country), and is officially recognized as being the largest waterfall system on Earth. First seen through Western eyes in 1541 by Spanish conquistador Cabeza de Vaca, the sight today is one that draws in over one million visitors annually.
