Explora Rapa Nui - Luxury Tour on Easter Island
(Tour Report December 2015)

If one is travelling to one of the most remote regions in the World to explore the history and myths of one of the most iconic destinations on Earth, Easter Island, one might as well do it in style and stay at one of the most stylish hotels here - Explora Rapa Nui!
The luxury Explora property is located on Easter Island in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, a 5 hour flight from Santiago, Chile.  Easter Island, or Rapa Nui as it is known by the locals, is the farthest island from any populated land on the planet.  It has been a destination of attraction and mystery ever since its discovery.   Today, more than ever, is a GREAT time to visit the Island, as its tourism industry expands and the services get better.  But remember, it is a LONG way from ANYWHERE, and EVRYTHING (other than local fish and some produce) has to be shipped or flown in from MILES away!
This tiny triangle of land was the birthplace of a fascinating civilization, of which the moai – giant statues sculpted from rock – play silent witness to this history.  In fact, a least three different cultures were known to have lived here, two who worshipped different types of moai, and the later "Bird People".
Visitors to Explora Rapa Nui may participate in one of many diverse explorations that are organized according to group size and guest preference.  Every day, they offer easy to more difficult walks that, one by one, unveil the secrets and beauty of the island. These walks are combined with picnics on rocky outcrops or along the shore, always in mesmerizing sites. Each day guests may choose between 5 or more different explorations that are selected according to climatic conditions, guests’ preferences, length and difficulty. The group size maximum is 8 people, along with a bilingual guide who brings all the necessary equipment.

The Explora Rapa Nui Hotel has 30 rooms in total, 4 Raa Suites
(468 sq ft) and 26 Varua Rooms (341 sq ft), all with a sitting area and a hidro-massage bath and ocean view. There are both inside and outside dining rooms and bars plus a pool, open air jacuzzi and massage room. Knowledgeable local guides, fluent in several languages, are on call to brief guests on tour options and ideas for the next day.  The hotel's catering staff are ready to present the best of Island cuisine, drawing on local produce, especially the rich harvest from the sea, such as fresh fish and  shellfish.  Above all else, Explora staff invite you to enjoy their attentive services and relax in Explora style!
