Peru, Amazon River Cruises
Amazon River Cruises​:  Amazon river cruises in Peru are categorized into three classes: depending on the length of cruise; standard of cabin and facilities selected; and ratio of guides to visitors on board.  Also, depending on what services are included (eg. additional activities, kayaking, canopy, open-bar, etc).  These are:
  • Delux cruises will normally be all-inclusive, with all meals, full guiding, open bar and a very high standard of service, cuisine, and amenities on board, usually on smaller vessels offering more personal attention to visitors.
* Prices (2022):
From US$ 4,200/person depending on vessel selected and level of suite comfort (5 days - M/V Delfin I/II options).
  • Premium cruises will tend to be on bigger boats, offering less personal attention and less spacious/luxurious cabins and lesser facilities, but will still offer a great nature experience.  Any extra services (eg. kayak rental, canopy, fishing, bar sales, etc) must be purchased on board.   ​

  • ​Economy cruises will offer a more utilitarian service and accommodation, but will still provide a safe and high quality nature experience.  Any extra services (eg. kayak rental, fishing, bar sales, etc) to be purchased on board.

​(* As a guide to pricing, we have used the 4 night/5 day package as the norm, 2 persons sharing.  Shorter and longer cruises are possible, as are charters for larger groups or options for honeymoon packages).
When to go​?  Jun - Oct is the Low Water period, when more use is made of footpaths to visit sites inside the jungle.  There are less mosquitos/insects, but birds/mammals on the tree canopy can be up to 9m further away!  Nov - May is the High Water period, so most excursions then are by boat.  Whilst you can expect more mosquitos/insects you will be higher on the water, giving better access to birds/animals on the tree canopy!  BOTH seasons offer great opportunities for close encounters with nature, but if certain species are sought, let us know.  We can check out when is best for you!
