Bolivia is a landlocked country in South America, bordered by Brazil on the north and east, Paraguay and Argentina on the south, and Chile and Peru on the west. Bolivia is known as the highest, most isolated and most rugged nation in the hemisphere and boasts among the driest, saltiest and swampiest natural landscapes in the world.

Although Bolivia is the poorest country in South America it is also one of the richest in terms of natural resources. It is the home to the soaring peaks of the Cordillera Real, the hallucinogenic salt flats of Uyuni, the steamy jungle of the Amazon Basin and wildlife-rich grasslands of the Southeast.
