REMOTA is located on the outskirts of Puerto Natales. A 20-minute stroll south from the hotel brings you to the Entrance of Puerto Natales where you are greeted by the statue of the Milodon. Remota is a hotel, or better said, a destination, distant from the city, and immersed in nature and the culture of a remote and untouched place. Yet, it offer some essential luxuries for visitors.

The hotel’s architecture is an invitation to stop and meditate on the experiences of your trip. Inspired by the warehouses and camps of the region, the architecture of Remota provides a profound connection to the life and history of Patagonia. It sits on the edge of truly remote wilderness, at a site that is characteristic of the Magallanes region. Many features of the hotel serve as reminders of life here. Inside the hotel, for example, open fires are kindled for warmth, with a simple roof opening to carry away the smoke rather than a chimney or elaborate exhaust system. Everything is reminiscent of life in Patagonia, but in this case not in a shearing house or camp, but in an enjoyable and luxurious hotel.

Remota is located in the heart of the region, which allows guests to take part in a multitude of attractions offered by the vast Chilean Patagonia.

In the region near Remota there are 6 areas of major interest. Various excursions from Remota visit each of these areas:
* Puerto Natales and Sierra Dorotea
* Southern Fjords
* Lake Sofia
* Torres del Paine National Park
* Sierra Baguales
* Mount Rotundo

The excursions are organized at the bar at around 7:00 pm each evening, where visitors can meet Remota’s guides and plan their activities, and, depending on the weather, select their best option for the following day. Each group is made of a maximum of eight guests, plus a driver and a permanent guide.

Remota offers fourteen different tours. The entire region that is a real world reserve of beauty and culture, not just within Torres del Paine National Park, but also beyond. Visitors can enjoy excursions to mountains, glaciers, lakes, rivers and forests, or cattle and sheep Haciendas in the vast prairies. This is a land of ancient native cultures as well, that can take you far back in time. Nomad hunters like Onas and Huilliches lived here, and also the Yamanas, fishermen and divers known as the Nomads of the Sea. These peoples have indelibly marked the geography of Patagonia; their stories and legends seduce today’s travelers, just as they did the first seamen and scientists, like Magellan and Darwin.

Remota’s highly trained teams of guides speak both Spanish and English. They are friendly and enthusiastic people who feel that being a guide is a pleasure as much as it is their job. They know when to respect silence, and the natural and cultural environment, and they are trained to offer first-aid assistance should it be needed.
